Jobs, Revenue, and Hope

Wings For Life seeks to advance the idea of hiring and training low-income women and recently released ex-offenders as health care navigators, advocates, and educators for low-income, uninsured, undocumented, and returning ex-offenders. These people will come from the community and will help others successfully navigate the barriers to timely health care, reduce the fear of being reported to Homeland Security, and overcome language barriers and cultural fears of Western health care and perceived cultural disrespect.

The average return on investment of utilizing health care navigators will yield a minimum of $1.46 per dollar spent through reduced hospital. Additional saving will be generated from reduced social services as well as direct and indirect revenues (income and taxes) generated by a healthy working population.
