Hire and train low income women and recently released ex-offenders as health care navigators/promotoras as advocates/educators for low income, uninsured, undocumented, and ex-offenders – to successfully navigate the barriers to seek timely health care, reduce the fears of being reported to Homeland Security, and overcome language barriers, cultural fears of Western health care and perceived cultural disrespect.
The average ROI of utilizing health care navigators will yield a minimum of $1.46 per dollar spent through reduced hospital utilization and additional saving will generated from reduced social services, and direct and indirect revenues (income and taxes) generated as a result of hiring of health care navigators.
